Job summary

Capitol Aggregates seeks an Equipment Operator I to safely inspect, operate, and service heavy equipment in support of aggregate production. You will assist with excavation, hauling, processing, stockpiling, and maintaining a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, material handling, plant support, and housekeeping, with opportunities for basic servicing and safety audits. Overtime, weekend work, and varying shifts may be required to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Requires working knowledge of heavy equipment operation in mining/aggregates/construction environments.
• Good mechanical aptitude to identify basic equipment issues.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to working safely in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, dredges, and portable plant equipment.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections and report issues.
• Support plant operations through material handling, feeding crushers/screens, stockpiling, and loading.
• Complete housekeeping and ground support duties to maintain safe, efficient work areas.
• Assist with basic servicing, minor maintenance, and area safety audits.
• Follow all company, plant, and MSHA safety policies and procedures.
