Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Frontier Engineer (AI/Agentic) to help build scalable, secure AI-enabled solutions and optimize costs for clients. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and AI practitioners in a cross-functional pod within Cognizant Forward.

You will evaluate AI-generated outputs for quality and relevance, contribute to knowledge systems, and apply responsible AI principles while learning new tools and technologies. The role is hybrid across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field such as CS, software engineering, data science, or cybersecurity.
• Experience or coursework in software development, cloud technologies, AI or automation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Curiosity and ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled development tools and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Use AI-assisted tools to build, test, deploy, and enhance scalable software and secure systems.
• Support AI-enabled applications, agentic workflows, and automation solutions.
• Evaluate AI outputs for quality, accuracy, and business relevance.
• Contribute to context systems, retrieval workflows, testing, deployment, monitoring, and docs.
• Apply responsible AI practices and continuously learn new tools.
