Job summary

RTX's BBN Technologies team seeks a researcher to design and deploy agentic AI systems with autonomous reasoning and multi-step planning. You will build Python-based frameworks, prototype new capabilities, and document results.

This hybrid role in Arlington, VA requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance. You will translate research into production-ready systems, publish findings, and contribute to diverse projects while benefiting from comprehensive RTX perks.

Qualifications

• Experience in Python, including experience building production-quality systems.
• Experience developing agentic or autonomous AI systems.
• Experience in latest research in agentic AI, LLM architectures, planning algorithms, or autonomous reasoning.
• Experience designing and running experimental evaluations for AI models or agents.
• Technical writing skills, including experience authoring research papers, preprints, or detailed technical reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional research and engineering teams.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

What You Will Do:

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
