Job summary

State Street is seeking an Agentic AI Builder, Officer, to design, prototype, and implement AI-enabled business workflows across the investment management organization. You will develop agentic AI solutions with governance in mind, collaborating with stakeholders, product managers, data engineers, and control partners.

You will rapidly prototype, test, and scale AI-enabled workflows, ensuring measurable business value while maintaining risk controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field.
• Strong engineering foundation with ability to translate ambiguous business problems into working technical solutions.
• Hands-on interest or experience with generative AI, agentic AI, prompt engineering, AI-assisted development, workflow automation, or adjacent software engineering practices.
• Familiarity with modern AI tools and platforms such as LLMs, agent frameworks, AI-enabled IDEs, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Gemini, AWS Bedrock, or similar technologies.
• Programming experience in Python, SQL, or comparable languages, with ability to develop prototypes and test workflows.
• Awareness of AI governance, responsible AI, data controls, model risk, security, auditability, and resiliency in a regulated enterprise environment.
• Curiosity and ownership mindset to grow into a future-forward AI engineer.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, decision processes, and measurable outcomes.
• Rapidly prototype, test, and implement agentic AI workflows that translate processes into scalable AI solutions.
• Design and build AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and semi-autonomous systems on top of approved data products and platforms.
• Implement human-in-the-loop controls, monitoring, escalation paths, and performance measurement for safe AI adoption.
• Use modern AI tools, frameworks, IDEs, prompt engineering methods, and reusable skills to accelerate delivery.
• Support model and agent testing, validation, performance metrics, token and cost optimization, and governance.
