Customer Service Representative

Full Time Hourly: Non-Exempt

Hourly Rate: $14.00-17.00 per hour (DOE)

BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH/SPANISH REQUIRED

SUMMARY: Greets public (clients/patients/visitors) face to face and/or by telephone, ascertains nature of business and conducts them to the appropriate person. Patient check in, check out and scheduling in electronic health record (EHR) and related EHR duties associated with position. Answering phones, taking messages, and performs general related office duties.

GENERAL MISSION STATEMENT: To improve the health status of migrant and seasonal agricultural workers and their families.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following are intended to illustrate typical duties; they are not meant to be all inclusive or restrictive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs office opening/closing procedures
  • Prepares for current days clients/patients on schedule.
  • Follows patients billing and collection procedure.
  • Makes sure patient completes waiting room intake form at each clinical visit.
  • Completes patient billing at check-out each visit.
  • Completes patient information updates at check-in each visit.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Promotes good working relationships with clients, community agencies and all others he/she comes in contact with.
  • Maintains confidentiality of clients and employee related internal matters. (HIPAA)
  • Answers the telephone, gives information to callers or routes call to appropriate persons and places.
  • Must be able to perform general office duties such as typing and filing and light housekeeping.
  • Must be able to effectively use technology and computer software, i.e., internet, email, MS Word and Excel at moderate or high level.
  • Makes copies of correspondence using copy machine.
  • Sends, receives and routes facsimile documents.
  • Uses time wisely/effectively and works as a team member of the client/patient centered care program.
  • Must be able to work well independently.
  • Completes client registrations or helps clients locate support services when outreach/intake workers are unavailable.
  • Performs other duties or assists with other duties as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Able to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Receptionist/Clerical experience
  • Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge,
  • skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
