Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking workers for planting and early-season wheat care. Responsibilities include operating air seeders, sprayers, augers, and related machinery, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety in high humidity and extreme temperatures.

Tasks cover fertilization, pest control, and crop health monitoring, with a focus on timely execution from planting to harvest. Housing and meals are provided, plus weekly transportation to grocery stores when cooking facilities are available.

Qualifications

• Two months of recent verifiable farming experience required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must obtain and maintain a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• A random drug test may be required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates planting, harvest, and spraying equipment in weather‑exposed conditions.
• Assists with applying fertilizers, pesticides, and growth regulators.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas and equipment.
• Monitors crops for health, pests, and weeds and communicates progress to supervisors.

Job description

During this contract workers will be needed for running equipment for planting and providing help maintaining plant health in the early stages of winter wheat production Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc, attach/detach implements, be able to handle working in high humidity, clean work areas, direct and monitor work during planting and harvesting, haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil, identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers, inform farm managers of plants or crops progress, load and unload materials and commodities, mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery, operate self propelled machinery, record information about crops, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, work in extreme temperatures. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, GPS guidance systems, manure spreading equipment, pickups, cars, etc, skid steers, sprayers, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: wheat.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 2 months

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
