Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and remove cryogenic pressure vessels and associated equipment for gases including oxygen, nitrogen, argon, helium, hydrogen, acetylene, carbon dioxide, and nitrous oxide.
- Install, maintain, and remove associated cryogenic equipment such as vaporizers, cryopumps, final lines, gas mixers, auto-changeovers, external alarm panels, exterior piping, and telemetry units.
- Install, maintain, and remove gaseous systems including nitrogen generators/membranes, air compressors, HP/LP reserve systems, auto-switchovers, and fill plant systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks on a regularly scheduled basis of all Cryogenic Department assets.
- Perform emergency corrective maintenance on Airgas and customer-owned assets.
- Perform site surveys at prospective customer locations to determine proper placement and sizing of potential equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- The associate regularly lifts and moves more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools (electrical and manual) safely.
- Willingness to be away from home for up to 5 days at a time (Monday through Friday) for installations, trouble calls, and certification schools.
- Availability to be on-call 24 hours a day.
- Ability to work in confined areas for piping installation on customer use lines and fill lines.
- Valid U.S. employment authorization; no current or future visa sponsorship required.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to complete daily paperwork and maintain customer records.
- Strong reading and comprehension skills for written and computer-generated documents.
Preferred Requirements
- Prior industry experience.
- Prior cryogenic or field service technician experience.
