A local youth organization in Milford is seeking a compassionate Youth Development Professional to create a fun and supportive environment for members aged 5–18. In this part-time role, you will lead programs that promote academic success and healthy lifestyles while building positive relationships with youth. Qualifikationen

• Experience in a group setting with youth is highly preferred.

Overview

Job Title: Youth Development Professional

Location: Boys & Girls Club of Milford

Reports To: Director of Programs

Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Summary: Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) at the Boys & Girls Club of Milford are responsible for creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for members ages 5–18. YDPs help implement high-quality programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and leadership. This role is ideal for individuals who are energetic, compassionate, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Youth: Build positive relationships with members and serve as a mentor and role model.
• Program Implementation: Lead and support activities across our core program areas — Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Leadership — using prepared curricula and club resources.
• Safety First: Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all members by following established protocols and behavior expectations.
• Positive Environment: Create a welcoming, inclusive, and structured environment that promotes respect, teamwork, and fun.
• Behavior Management: Use positive reinforcement and club behavior policies to guide members and address issues appropriately.
• Team Collaboration: Communicate regularly with supervisors and teammates to support youth and ensure smooth daily operations.

Work Schedule

• School Year: Afternoon hours, some evenings, Monday through Friday.
• Summer & School Breaks: Expanded hours may be available between 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
• Flexibility to work special events or extended hours as needed.
