Job summary

Amazing Athletes is seeking an engaging Italian Instructor for the afterschool program at PS166 in New York. You will introduce Kindergarten through 5th grade students to Italian language and culture using songs, visuals, and energetic activities.

The role focuses on beginner vocabulary, conversational phrases, and culturally enriched lessons. Part-time, Fridays, 2:40 PM–4:20 PM, with commitment through the 2026-27 school year in a supportive team setting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Italian; basic conversational instruction.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Ability to design and lead engaging language lessons.

Responsibilities

• Teach beginner Italian vocabulary, phrases, songs and culture in fun lessons.
• Plan age-appropriate activities to foster listening, speaking, and comprehension.
• Create an inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity and cultural awareness.
• Help students use Italian in simple real-life contexts to build confidence.
• Communicate with admin and families as needed; submit attendance reports.
