Beacon Hill Learning Labs in the DFW area seeks an Afterschool Instructor to create a positive learning environment and deliver small-group tutoring (3-4:1). The role includes drop-off/pickup duties, progress assessments, and curriculum implementation with fidelity.
The position supports Campus Managers and attends staff meetings, with travel about 30% of the time across the DFW Metroplex. Requires a High School Diploma and some college hours, plus experience in early childhood education or
FLSA status: Non‑Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 2pm - 6:30pm. Occasional Friday duties as scheduled and/or upon request.
Pay Rate: up to $20.00 p/hour
Directly Reports to Campus Managers
Indirectly Reports toAssociate Program Manager(s) and Program Manager(s)
Afterschool Instructors are essential to the mission and execution of the Beacon Hill, www.beaconhillprep.org , mission. The students who are served within the Beacon Hill Learning Labs are located on school campuses. Afterschool Instructors assist Campus Managerswith executing the Beacon Hill mission by contributing tomaintainingan environment conducive to nurturing academicinstructionand learning is key to the mission.
Essential Functionsof the position include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain a positive and engaging atmosphere in the Beacon Hill Learning Lab
Provide high quality & engaging small group 3-4:1 tutoring instruction.
Assess student progress individually and daily.
Assist Campus Managerswith strategicallymonitoringgroup performance.
Student classroom drop-off and pickup.
Implement the Gideon reading & math curriculum and enrichment with fidelity.
Maintainaccurateand confidential record‑keeping and database entry.
Assistwithmaintainingeffective classroom management (Maximum 12 students in lab per rotation; 4 to 1 ratio maximum)
Adhere to internal Beacon Hilland external school district policies.
Display professional behavior and dress in adherence to Beacon Hill's policies.
Attend campus staff meetings as scheduled.
Assist with volunteer and staff training as requested by the Campus Manager and/or Associate Program Managers and/or Program Managers.
Required Education:
High School Diploma
Some college hours
Required Experience:
Background in early childhood education, classroom instruction orassistance, and/or childcare.
Travel Requirements:
30% Travel Around the DFW Metroplex
Pickup and Drop-offrequiredcampus curriculum, paperwork, and supplies.
Attend in‑person corporate conferences, professional developments, training, and team buildings throughout the DFW Metroplex as scheduled.
Additional Qualifications Required:
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
