Job summary

Amazing Athletes in New York seeks an enthusiastic Instructor for our afterschool program serving K-5 students. This part-time role focuses on fostering academic excellence, creativity, and camaraderie through engaging activities and teamwork with school staff.

Responsibilities include motivating students, managing transitions, and using digital platforms for attendance and incident reporting. Enrolled in a Bachelor's program with strong communication and organizational skills is preferred.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program
• At least 6 months of teaching experience, preferably with elementary-level students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate young learners

Job description

We are seeking an Instructor for our afterschool program! Here you will be able to combine your interest and passion in working with Kindergarten - 5th Graders, while gaining experience at one of the most premier public schools in the nation. We're looking for individuals who are engaging and can foster academic excellence, creativity, and camaraderie amongst students.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively engages with and motivates students during class time and transitions

• Experience working with students, preferably elementary age
• Being punctual and reliable is a must!
• Ability to clearly communicate rules and expectations to children is essential
• Excellent organizational and time management skills are highly valued
• A high level of professionalism and motivation is expected

• Being able to work with a team in a school environment is important

The Schedule

• Days: Monday-Friday (part-time availability, 2-5 times per week)
• Time: 2:40 PM - 5:40 PM (broken into two sessions: early session 2:40 PM-4:20 PM and late session 4:20 PM-5:40 PM)
• We're interested in candidates who can commit to the full academic year

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's program
• At least 6 months of teaching experience, preferably with elementary-level students

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, or a related field
• At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably with elementary-level students
• Good foundation and familiarity with educational tech tools
