Job summary

The Dalton School is seeking an Afterschool Health Office Coordinator for the 91st Street program in New York, NY. The role is part-time, with health office duties from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, serving K–3 students and collaborating with the nursing team.

Responsibilities include first aid, triage, communication with families, and maintaining student medical records, while coordinating arrivals and dismissal within the afterschool program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
• First Aid Certification.
• CPR and AED Certification.
• Additional training will be provided by Dalton’s nursing team.
• Special consideration for EMT, CNA or MAT.
• Experience working with students in grades K-3.
• Excellent judgment and ability to work calmly under pressure.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the 91st Street Health Office from 3:00-6:00 PM daily.
• Serve as the first point of contact for any health and wellness issues during the afterschool program.
• Administer first aid for basic injuries.
• Consult with on-duty RN (located at Dalton’s 89th Street campus) regarding any concerns.
• Communicate with families regarding any injury or illness.
• Supervise students who need to be picked up.
• Document incidents in Dalton’s student medical records software program.
• Assist with arrival and dismissal from the afterschool program.
