Job summary

Discovery Point is seeking an afterschool Floater to assist teachers in delivering activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth for children. The role emphasizes safety, developmentally appropriate activities, and teamwork with Lead/Assistant Teachers.

The position requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to the needs of the center and families, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Must meet state licensing requirements for education and experience with WORKS Letter from DCDEE.
  • BSAC Certified as required by state regulations.
  • Knowledge of Early childhood education curriculum; EDU119 training preferred.
  • Ability to be trained in CPR & First Aid certification.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; EDU119 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist multiple classroom teachers in activities aligned to approved curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Afterschool duties from 2:30-6pm and support in setup and cleanup of the classroom.
  • Assist with meal and snack preparation and feeding assistance.
