Job summary

A community-focused organization is seeking a part-time Education Specialist to provide tutoring in math and literacy for K-5 students. Responsibilities include planning educational activities, fostering a positive learning environment, and documenting student progress. Ideal candidates will have an Associate degree in Education or a related field, along with experience working with youth. Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to inclusivity are essential. This position operates Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 6 PM, offering opportunities for impact in the community.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience working with youth in an Afterschool or tutoring environment.
• Understanding of public-school functions and knowledge of Common Core.
• Experience in developing education-based curriculum and lesson plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive tutoring in math and literacy to K-5 students.
• Plan and organize educational activities under the guidance of the Site Director.
• Document and maintain academic records of participants.
