The Riverdale Y in New York is seeking an After School Counselor to support the implementation of the after school program. You will help maintain a safe, clean site and build positive relationships with participants and their families.

Responsibilities include transporting children from designated schools to the Riverdale Y by bus, guiding them to enrichment classes, assisting enrichment and homework teachers, and staying punctual with schedules.

Job description

Position Summary

An After School Counselor assists with the implementation of the after school program. The after school staff member is responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean after school program site, ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants and their families.

The after school counselor's work days will follow the public school calendar (unless otherwise noted). Counselors will be expected to be available Monday‑Friday, from 2:00‑6:30 PM. After school staff may be stationed at the Riverdale Y.

Hourly rate: $17‑18.50 depending on experience.

Ideal opportunity for college/grad student studying early childhood education.

This position will begin during the 2026/2027 school year, starting in September; resume collection is open.
