Job summary

Nicholas County Board of Education is seeking a Bus Operator to drive school transportation in the Craigsville and Summersville areas, following a 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm schedule. The role requires adherence to safety policies and supervision of students on routes.

Applicants must comply with WV transportation regulations, maintain required licenses and certifications, and demonstrate solid communication and safety skills for daily operations.

Qualifications

• The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed drugs while in the workplace.
• Staff members serve as role models for students and demonstrate ethical principles and democratic values.
• Legal responsibility to instill ethical principles and democratic values in students.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties outlined in WV Policy 4336 and local board policies.
• Maintain positive work habits and attitude.
• Operate school buses safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
• Assist and supervise students, including during boarding and alighting.
• Complete required paperwork within prescribed timelines.
