Job summary

The Alice Center Assisted Living Program at UVM Health - Alice Hyde Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical and operational leadership. This is a temporary leadership role with guaranteed 40 hours per pay period.

Current schedule is approximately 4 hours per weekday afternoon, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no weekend requirements. The RN will oversee nursing care and staff supervision while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license in good standing.
• Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience in assisted living, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, assessment, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support the delivery of safe, person-centered nursing care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate resident care plans.
• Provide clinical guidance and supervision to nursing staff.
• Monitor staffing, assignments, and resident safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ensure compliance with NY regulations and organizational policies.
• Address clinical concerns with sound nursing judgment.
• Promote teamwork, quality improvement, and resident outcomes.
• Serve as a nursing leadership resource when senior leadership is unavailable.
