Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio seeks an Environmental Services Technician for the afternoon shift. The role performs cleaning tasks, maintains safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing areas, and adheres to infection control standards.

You will work with patient care teams, use cleaning equipment, and participate in mandated safety trainings, TB testing, HIPAA, and other in-service meetings.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally or in writing to assure job is completed.
• Ability to understand and learn cleaning industry standards and operating procedures.
• Ability to work independently and with others.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks and floor maintenance according to industry standards and infection control requirements.
• Safely handle cleaning agents using proper PPE and techniques.
• Handle, dispose of soiled linen, trash, infectious waste and hazardous waste per procedures.
• Respond to Bed Tracking and Service Response Center requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Speak to patients and co-workers in a respectful manner.
