Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a facilities maintenance worker in Milton, MI to perform cleaning, upkeep, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and building systems. You will replace lamps, fixtures, and maintain security of the building and grounds in accordance with school seasonal requirements.

Responsibilities include mowing, snow removal as needed, and learning MI-OSHA safety standards to ensure compliant conduct and safe operations across facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or custodial work.
• Ability to perform preventive and minor corrective maintenance.
• Willingness to learn safety standards per MI-OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, and materials per seasonal requirements.
• Perform preventive and minor corrective maintenance on heating, cooling, plumbing, and custodial equipment.
• Replace lamps, ballasts, outlets, switches, sockets, and fixtures.
• Replace glass and plexiglass.
• Maintain building and grounds security.
• Mow lawns and perform snow removal as required.
• Learn and apply MI-OSHA safety standards and related regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Clean & preserve designated spaces, equipment, and materials in accordance with school seasonal requirements.


• 2. Performs on-going program of preventive and minor corrective maintenance on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, custodial building maintenance equipment, incinerators, compactors, building structure, and hardware.


• 3. Replace electric lamps, fluorescent ballasts, wall convenience outlets, switches, sockets and fixtures, etc.


• 4. Replaces glass and plexiglass.


• 5. Maintains building and grounds security.


• 6. Perform selective mowing, and snow removal as required


• 7. Knowledge of or willingness to learn employee's requirements to comply with safety and health standards, rules, regulations, and orders issued under the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act (MI-OSHA) and applicable to his conduct.
