Job summary

Mentoring Alliance seeks an Afternoon Child Care Worker to lead elementary students in enrichment activities after school, fostering youth development in a faith-based setting.

The role is non-exempt, part-time (approximately 17–20 hours/week) with a 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. schedule, Monday through Friday during the school year. A passion for helping kids and a commitment to the ministry are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age; HS Diploma or GED preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred.
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check and have a valid driver’s license or valid ID.
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory).
• Spanish-speaking ability greatly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead elementary students in enrichment activities.
• Foster youth development and serve as a role model in a Christian ministry.
• Work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
• Maintain dependable transportation and safe, supportive supervision.

Afternoon Child Care Worker

We are seeking ministry-minded individuals to be on our After School team. The Afternoon Child Care Worker’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We are looking for an Afternoon Child Care Worker who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and developing kids to reach their full potential! You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community. An Afternoon Child Care Worker is non-exempt, part-time position that average 17-20 hours per week.

At Mentoring Alliance After School, we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
• Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post-secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred
• Able to work Monday - Friday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
