Job summary

Maayan Torah Day School is seeking caring, creative, and dependable aftercare teachers to join our early childhood team. The program serves children from infancy through 5 years old and offers aftercare from 3:50 PM to 5:30 PM, with extended care options in the morning and afterschool blocks.

Shifts may vary by classroom needs, with a current emphasis on Monday afternoons. We operate in a faith-based environment where Jewish traditions are part of the day, though applicants need not be Jewish.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children in early childhood settings.

• Ability to work aftercare from 3:50 PM to 5:30 PM.

Maayan Torah Day School is a warm, nurturing Jewish private school seeking caring, creative, and dependable aftercare teachers to join our early childhood team. We are looking for educators who enjoy working with young children and are excited to learn and grow with us.

Our early childhood program serves children from infancy through 5 years of age. Whether you're a college student, someone working part-time, retired, or have a flexible schedule and are looking for extra hours, this could be a great opportunity!

We are in need of teachers to help in our aftercare program from 3:50 PM to 5:30 PM.

Our regular school schedule is:

• Monday–Thursday: 8:20 AM – 3:30 PM
• Friday: 8:20 AM – 2:30 PM

We also offer extended care:

• Morning Care: 7:30 AM – 8:20 AM
• Aftercare (Monday–Thursday): 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
• Aftercare (Friday): 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Shifts may vary depending on the classroom and program needs. Although I do have a consistent need right now for Monday afternoons.

About Our School

Maayan Torah Day School is a religious Jewish school, and our classrooms include Jewish traditions and religious curriculum as part of the school day. You do not need to be Jewish to work here, but applicants should be comfortable working in a faith-based school environment and supporting our school's mission and values.

Requirements

As a licensed childcare facility, the following certifications are required upon hire. Most can be completed online, with the exception of CPR and First Aid, which require in-person training.

Required upon hire:

• Enrollment in the Oregon Criminal History Registry
• Food Handler's Card
• Infant/Toddler CPR & First Aid Certification
• Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect
• Introduction to Health and Safety
• Safe Sleep for Infants and Toddlers
• Prevention Is Better Than Treatment
• Foundations for Learning
