Job summary

The Community Learning Center (CLC) is seeking an After School Youth Development Substitute for Sioux Falls, SD, to support after-school programs and engage K-8 students in education, enrichment, and activities.

The role requires at least 16 years old, experience with youth, and completion of CPR/licensure training. It is a part-time position with afternoon hours, based at the CLC site. Training and supervision are provided to ensure a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Experience with K-8 youth.
• Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent filing, grasping, holding, indexing, inserting, keyboarding, repetitive use of wrists, hands and fingers, opening, reaching, removing, scheduling, sitting, sorting, speaking, stamping, standing, stapling, stooping, typing, walking, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Coordinator in the daily operation of the CLC program.
• Teach, supervise, and interact with children during education, enrichment, skill development, and recreational activities.
• Create a safe environment for children.
• Assist with the discipline of children where appropriate.
• Assist with clean-up procedures for assigned areas and overall school building.
• Assist with parent pick-up of children.
• Demonstrate imagination and resourcefulness in working with students.
• Complete required training hours for state licensure, including CPR certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator.
• Successfully advance CLC initiatives.
