Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an After School Enrichment specialist to deliver strength and conditioning sessions for priority students, aligned with academic support and college/career readiness.

You will collaborate with campus principals and the After School Coordinator to implement enrichment activities after school for approximately 2–2.5 hours, within a grant-funded program that supports student growth and program goals.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Current college enrollment, up to 15 college hours, or professional certification in the subject you will teach.
• Required Experience: Experience working with youth (formal or informal) and experience working in a classroom/school setting (formal or informal).
• Must attach an official or unofficial transcript to the application to verify GPA and credits earned.

Responsibilities

• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives and develop students’ character and sense of community.
• Help shape and develop a school-wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic learning environment.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust, respect and understanding.
• Provide enrichment and recreation leadership for the program students.
• Facilitate planned enrichment and/or recreational activities for groups of 12–18 students.
• Assist in developing students' cognitive capacity and academic skill development.
• Foster students' self-esteem and motivation through positive interactions.
• Report to Site Coordinator and coordinate program design and evaluation with Project Director.
