Job summary

Snapology of King of Prussia is seeking an After School STEM Enrichment Instructor to teach programs at elementary schools after the school day. You will promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while introducing STEM concepts, collaborating with Snapology leadership, and presenting a professional image to parents and children.

The role is part-time, typically 4–8 hours per week, with shifts 3:30–5:30 pm on at least two weekdays.

Qualifications

• State and Federal Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances valid within 1 year.
• Negative TB test within 3 months.
• Experience working with children in classroom or camp settings.
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; education majors encouraged.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally in English.
• Proven reliability and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Instruct and monitor students using learning materials and equipment.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules to manage behavior.
• Prepare for each program by reading curriculum and watching trainings.
• Answer parent inquiries about Snapology programs.

Position

The primary focus of an After School STEM Enrichment Instructor will be to teach Snapology programs at elementary schools at the end of the school day. After School STEM Enrichment Instructor are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in live training sessions
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs

Qualifications

• State and Federal Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances must be within 1 year, and cleared to work with children in PA.
• Negative TB test result within 3 months.
• Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended; College students pursuing a degree in education are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
• Ability to communicate effectively orally in English
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Programs

• Weekday after-school classes; must be available to work between 330-530pm at least two days per week.
• Optional add-on: weekday in-school special events
• Optional add-on: weeknight classes and/or special events
• Optional add-on: School break workshops
• Optional add-on: weekend workshops or birthday parties
• Option to transition to Summer Camp Instructor at the end of the school year.

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability, an After School STEM Enrichment Instructor typically works between 4-8 hours per week.

Compensation: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
