Job summary

Groves Learning Organization in Minneapolis is seeking Independent Contractors to serve as After-School Literacy Tutors. This role supports approximately 100 students across three North Minneapolis partner schools and uses a structured literacy instruction model.

You will work with a small group of students, delivering sessions three times weekly while building strong relationships and consistency throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• Tutoring experience in literacy or education settings.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students.
• Reliable attendance and adherence to schedule.
• Clear, respectful communication.
• Willingness to follow a structured instructional model.
• Open to coaching and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group literacy tutoring using a structured model.
• Support about 10 students in five tutoring pairs across sites.
• Deliver sessions 3 times per week, Mon-Fri 3:00–6:00 p.m.
• Use provided curriculum and progress-monitoring tools.
• Communicate with program and site contacts.
• Complete orientation and safety requirements.
• Maintain consistent attendance.
