Job summary

Windham Public Schools seeks a Program Assistant for its Family & Community Engagement/ Before/After School Program. The role involves supporting providers and teachers during arrivals, coordinating staff and volunteers, and ensuring smooth program operations.

You will track supplies, facilitate transitions, and observe student responses to tailor activities. The position requires a high school diploma, comfort working in fast-paced environments, and strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with school aged children preferred.
Able to be physically active with and engage youth.
Experience with urban settings and diverse populations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist program providers and teachers during student arrival.
Maintain communication and coordination among staff and volunteers.
Maintain an inventory of program supplies and materials.
Facilitate transitions during program hours.
Observe programming and record student response.
Reinforce the homework policy by visiting classrooms and ensuring students are completing homework or reading a book.
Foster the development of family and community partnerships during programming hours.
Relay and report any student or parent concerns in a timely manner.
Complete all other tasks as assigned by the site coordinators.
