Job summary

Mentoring Alliance in Abilene, TX is seeking ministry-minded individuals to join the After School team as an After School Program Mentor. The mentor will lead elementary students in enrichment activities, fostering youth development in a faith-based after school setting.

This is a non-exempt, part-time position averaging 17–20 hours per week, typically Monday–Friday 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old; High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school-aged children.
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification; mandatory background check.
• Legally allowed to work in the United States; valid driver’s license or ID.

Responsibilities

• Lead elementary students in enrichment activities after school.
• Foster youth development and serve as a role model.
• Work Monday–Friday 2:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year.
• Operate in a Christian ministry environment and uphold the faith-based mission.

The After School Program Mentor’s primary role is fostering youth development in an after school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. We are looking for an After School Program Mentor who is devoted to excellence, wholeheartedness, and developing kids to reach their full potential! You have the chance to have an eternal impact and be a role model to kids in your community. An After School Program Mentor is non‑exempt, part‑time position that averages 17‑20 hours per week.

At Mentoring Alliance After School, we hire teachers, youth workers, teen workers, college students, mentors and more to serve and develop kids in our programs. As a Christian ministry we are geared toward serving kids and students in our community by offering awesome after school care and activities.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith
• Must be at least 17 years of age; High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred and some post‑secondary training highly preferred
• Have a passion and love for working with elementary school‑aged children
• Experience working with elementary school‑aged children is preferred
• Able to work Monday – Friday 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. during the school calendar year
• Ability to earn CPR/First Aid certification (mandatory)
• Pass Mandatory Background/Sex offender check
• Valid driver’s license or Valid ID
• Legally allowed to work in the United States
• Have dependable transportation
• Spanish‑speaking ability greatly valued
