Job summary

YMCA of Central Texas in Leander, TX is seeking a part-time Site Director to lead our afterschool program at elementary schools within Leander ISD. You will guide staff, design engaging activities, and ensure a safe, positive environment for children from Preschool to 5th grade.

The role emphasizes staff development, parent communication, and strict record keeping, with a 17–20 USD hourly rate and benefits like gym membership and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a YMCA leadership role or licensed childcare preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of licensed childcare or school experience.
• 30 hours of training in child/youth development with documentation.
• Must meet Texas Operational Director certification requirements within 30 days or have a plan.
• Must be 21+ with a high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Valid Texas driver's license and proof of insurability.
• Experience supervising and motivating a team and managing budgets.
• Pass drug tests and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Guide staff and impact children's lives by leading activities and ensuring a safe environment.
• Design engaging program curriculum and manage supplies for afterschool activities.
• Motivate and train staff with enrichment experiences and guest speakers.
• Serve as a model site and conduct visits to observe and provide feedback.
• Attend weekly department meetings and communicate with parents about activities.
• Maintain timely and accurate record keeping and school checklists.
• Mentor a team of 5+ counselors to deliver a high-quality afterschool program.
