Qualifications

After School Program Director 2026-27 School Year

6.5 hrs./day, 180 days/year, $51.50/hour
Estimated start date: October 1, 2026
APPLICATION DEADLINE: September 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
Grant Funded Position through 08/31/2027.
Position is dependent upon future funding from the 21st Century Learning Grant via Title IV

Overview

The district’s 21 st CCLC primary goal is to raise literacy and math achievement in grades 1 st through 8 th and improve academic and nonacademic performance, while providing a safe and supportive environment. The Program’s intention is to provide meaningful opportunities for underachieving students during out of school time.
The Project Director will report to the Superintendent at the district office. The Director is the contact person with OSPI and is responsible for overseeing all sites. The Director will coordinate and communicate with school day staff and build and strengthen relationships with partners and community members.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, Public Administration or related field

Two years’ experience in program management in an educational setting

Demonstrated experience in data collection and evaluation, team leadership and community partnering

Ability to administer the budget and follow state and federal guidelines for spending and reporting expenditures

Experience planning and supervising educational programs for students

Ability to obtain teaching certificate (emergency substitute or other) within 60 days

Washington State Teaching Certificate

Administrative experience in an educational setting

“Highly Qualified” status or recent teaching experience

Washington State Teaching Certificate

Responsibilities of the Project Director:

Administer and supervise the 21 st CCLC Program according to grant specifications

Provide leadership to Site Coordinators to design and implement engaging programming and interventions

Collaboratively plan and oversee enrichment and intervention programs for 100-120 students at Whitson Elementary, WP Stevenson

Intermediate and Henkle Middle School

Collaborate with program partners and develop new partnerships

Participate in school administrative meetings and the school improvement process at all three sites; facilitate the Steering Committee

Participate in district, regional and statewide training activities and facilitate meetings and trainings with 21 st CCLC staff to implement

state and federal guidelines and grant requirements

Work effectively with the Steering Committee, parents, partners and volunteers to communicate and receive feedback around the

Collaborate with Site Coordinators, school administrators and external evaluators to maintain ongoing assessment and evaluation

activities to meet state and federal record-keeping and reporting requirements

Conduct observations and provide guidance to the performance of Site Coordinators; provide corrective direction to staff, following

district and program policies and procedures

Utilize problem solving skills, communication, conflict resolution and time management

Use student data management systems and student’s data to manage and measure outcomes

Coordinate district, community partner and site resources

Organize data for program evaluation requirements

Plan and provide staff development and in-service training for program staff

Manage the 21 st CCLC budget and acquire appropriate and adequate materials and resources for each program site
