Job summary

Hebrew Educational Society in Brooklyn is seeking an After School Program Director to supervise the DYCD COMPASS Elementary program. You will oversee program operations, hire and develop staff, and ensure compliance with DYCD, SACC, and H.E.S. standards.

This full-time, onsite role runs Monday–Friday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM, with responsibilities including staff ratios, licensing compliance, and liaison duties with host schools and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• 1 year of supervisor experience.
• Full-time position.
• Hours: Monday–Friday 10:00AM–6:00PM.
• Onsite during all program hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite supervision and oversight of all COMPASS program operations during program hours.
• Hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
• Maintain required staff-to-student ratios (Grades K-5: 1:10).
• Ensure compliance with DYCD licensing, health and safety protocols, and contracts.
• Serve as primary contact for host school, families, DYCD Program Manager and partners.
• Plan and deliver enrichment, academics, and recreational activities; ensure staff professional development hours.
• Hold regular team meetings and attend DYCD lead sessions.

Principal Responsibilities:

Position Summary

The Program Director serves as the onsite supervisor of the DYCD COMPASS Elementary program with overall responsibility for program implementation, including the hiring, supervision, and development of program staff. The Program Director ensures the program operates in full compliance with DYCD, SACC, and H.E.S. standards and serves as the primary liaison between the program, the host school, families, and DYCD.

Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite supervision and oversight of all COMPASS program operations during program hours
• Hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate program staff in accordance with DYCD staffing requirements
• Ensure DYCD required staff-to-student ratios are maintained at all times, including during activities, transitions, arrival, and dismissal (Grades K-5: 1:10)
• Oversee program compliance with the SACC license, health and safety protocols, and all contractual obligations
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the host school, families, DYCD Program Manager, and community partners
• Support the planning and delivery of high-quality enrichment, academic, and recreational activities? Ensure staff complete required professional development hours (COMPASS Elementary: 129 hours per year)
• Hold regular team meetings and attend DYCD lead sessions

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• 1 year of Supervisor experience
• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday from 10:00AM - 6:00PM
