Job summary

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings is highly preferred but not required
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is a plus
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire. Training is provided.
• Experience facilitating youth activities such as sports coaching, theater arts, tutoring or babysitting is advantageous
• Ability to work outdoors comfortably in various weather conditions for outdoor work experience
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Demonstrated commitment to child supervision, safety protocols, and positive youth development strategies

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during before and after-school program to ensure safety and well-being at all times
• Collaborate with other staff to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social skills, creativity, physical activity, and learning experiences
• Manage children's behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment
• Provide first aid and respond appropriately to emergencies following established protocols, including CPR and AED operation when necessary
• Participate and complete required training opportunities.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, activity logs, and incident reports to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Support the overall development of children through mentorship and fostering respectful peer interactions
