Job summary

SBA Tennis & Pickleball is seeking enthusiastic, dependable part-time coaches to provide after-school tennis and/or pickleball instruction at elementary schools in the South Bay Area. Coaches may work one or more afternoons per week, with classes generally lasting an hour from about 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM.

Compensation ranges from $60–$100 per class, paid weekly, with additional opportunities possible. Training, lesson plans, and equipment are provided, and coaches will join sessions to learn SBA

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tennis or pickleball is preferred or you are eager to learn.
• Must be professional, dependable and punctual.
• Must have reliable transportation to school locations.
• Willing to complete a Live Scan background check.

Responsibilities

• Attend training or shadowing sessions before starting an assignment.
• Teach tennis and/or pickleball using provided lesson plans and your own experience.
• Conduct classes of approximately 4–12 students independently or with other coaches.
• Create a fun, encouraging and safe environment.
• Transport, set up and organize program equipment.
• Take attendance and manage student sign-in and dismissal.
• Communicate professionally with parents and school staff as needed.
• Follow SBA and school safety procedures.

Job description

SBA Tennis & Pickleball is seeking enthusiastic and dependable part-time coaches to provide after-school tennis and/or pickleball instruction at elementary schools in the South Bay Area!

Coaches may work one or more afternoons per week. We welcome experienced coaches as well as candidates with playing experience who are interested in learning how to coach children.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• Classes begin between approximately 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM, depending on the school
• Classes are generally hour long
• Work one or more days per week based on your availability
• Additional time may be required for setup, attendance and student dismissal

Compensation

• $60–$100 per class assignment
• Compensation depends on the assignment, class length, experience and responsibilities
• Paid weekly
• Additional coaching opportunities may be available

Minimum qualifications

• Comfortable working with elementary-school-aged children
• Fun, friendly, patient and enthusiastic personality
• Knowledge of tennis or pickleball, or a strong willingness to learn
• Professional, dependable and punctual
• Reliable transportation to school locations
• Able to transport coaching equipment when required
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Willing to complete a Live Scan background check

Preferred qualifications

• Previous teaching, coaching or youth-program experience
• Tennis playing or knowledge
• Pickleball playing or knowledge
