Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking an After School Multi-Sports/Wellness Instructor to lead engaging activities across sports and wellness for students in Brooklyn. You will coach fundamental athletic skills, lead drills, and promote healthy habits in a fun, inclusive setting.

This role supervises up to 15 students after school (3:00–6:30 p.m.), plans lessons, tracks progress, maintains attendance, and supports safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; filmmaking credentials are preferred.
• Availability to work late afternoons and/or evenings (typically 4:00–6:00 p.m., with program hours 3:00–6:30 p.m.).
• Experience in youth enrichment or after-school settings is preferred.
• Must successfully complete required background checks.

Salary Range: $25.00 To $35.00 Hourly

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly qualified Multisports & Wellness Specialist who can provide engaging instruction across multiple sports while also promoting student wellness through activities such as yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and movement. This individual will coach fundamental athletic skills, lead drills and routines, and create a positive and inclusive environment where students can build confidence and develop their athletic abilities. The ideal candidate will bring a fun, creative approach to both sports and wellness, helping students develop healthy habits, self-regulation, and overall well-being.

Supervise and ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of up to 15 students during after-school programming.

Plan and facilitate engaging lessons and enrichment activities, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs and interests.

Establish learning objectives, monitor student progress, and support skill development through project-based activities.

Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and character development.

Prepare classrooms and materials, maintain attendance records, and assist with daily program setup and cleanup.

Implement safety protocols, including emergency procedures and evacuation drills.

Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust activities to maximize student engagement and outcomes.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the After-School Program Director.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; certifications or credentials in filmmaking are preferred.

Availability to work late afternoons and/or evenings (typically 4:00–6:00 p.m., with program hours between 3:00–6:30 p.m.).

Experience in filmmaking and prior experience working with youth in a classroom, enrichment, or after-school setting preferred.

Strong communication, classroom management, and group facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and follow program schedules.

Passion for education and youth development; candidates qualified to lead instruction in multiple activities are preferred. Must successfully complete required background checks and clearances.

$25 - $35 per hour
