Job summary

EDMO is seeking a part-time, up-to 25 hours per week position in California. The role involves leading STEAM and SEL activities for after-school programs, managing the room with patience, and communicating with parents about each child’s day.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and may need an Instructional Assistant exam or AA/BA/48 college units. Livescan fingerprinting and TB test are required; lifting up to 50 lbs may be needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with kids in any setting (job, babysitting, tutoring, coaching, camp, or family).
• Ability to hold a group's attention and redirect when off-task.
• Creative, patient, and positive, even on chaotic days.
• Knowledge of SEL and STEAM, or willingness to learn.
• Punctual and reliable when you say you'll be there.

Responsibilities

• Lead STEAM and SEL activities that get kids building and collaborating.
• Manage the room with patience and redirect with care.
• Communicate with parents about their child's day.
• Maintain attendance, supplies, and a safe, clean space.
• Attend trainings and be open to feedback.

• Be the steady one who manages the room with patience and redirects with care
• Show up for parents, friendly and quick to share how their kid's day went
• Keep things running: attendance, supplies, a safe and clean space
• Keep growing: bring ideas, show up to training with an open mind, take feedback well
• Plus whatever else the day needs. That's the job, and it's the fun part.
