Job summary

Goddard Riverside Community Center seeks Group Leaders to guide K–8 cohorts and a staff team in Beacon, NY. You will help deliver reading enrichment, STEM, arts, and social-emotional activities while coordinating with teachers and staff to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

The role runs fall to spring with weekday afternoons, 2:00pm–6:00pm, up to 20 hours per week, at $21.00 hourly. Prior supervision and strong youth-work enthusiasm are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 2+ years of experience with youth under 13 in groups.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• High School Diploma/GED; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Sense of humor and passion for youth development.
• Pass background check including Fingerprint Screening.
• CPR/First Aid Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Foster a learning environment that stimulates children’s creative growth and development.
• Demonstrate professionalism and leadership with a group of 20-25 youth.
• Work with NYC Public Schools Teachers to deliver morning sessions (Mon–Thu).
• Maintain sound supervision and safety of participants.
• Supervise youth workers and staff.
• Deliver recreational and cultural programs to develop community and explore the summer theme.
