Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an After School Enrichment Specialist in Weslaco, Texas, to deliver after-school programming prioritizing academic support, enrichment opportunities, and college/career readiness. The role focuses on structured activities for 2–2.5 hours after the school day, reporting to the Site Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in college or hold a relevant certification and have experience with youth in classroom or school settings.

Qualifications

• Instruct students and manage classroom behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to adjust to a variety of school environments and track data for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Implement a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Foster a positive, productive learning environment for all students.
• Build trust-based relationships with students and families.
• Provide enrichment and recreation leadership for program participants.
• Lead planned enrichment and/or recreational activities for groups of 12–18 students.
• Support cognitive development and academic skill growth through activities.
• Encourage student self-esteem and motivation through positive interactions.
• Report to Site Coordinator and coordinate program design and outreach with leadership.
