Job summary

FIREWALL CENTERS INC. is seeking a Part-Time Educator in Sunrise, FL to supervise students and facilities during after-school hours. You will work with school staff and Firewall team to ensure safe operation, support behavior management, and provide tutoring and curriculum instruction.

The role requires assisting with harm reductions, following policies, and serving as a positive role model. Training and content supervision are provided to maintain a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a teaching certificate or be pursuing a two-year/four-year teaching degree, or have two years of active K-12 teaching experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Elementary staff: obtain DCF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor classrooms, cafeteria, halls, restrooms to ensure safety until dismissal.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor with Firewall staff, students, and parents.
• Teach and assist youth with the curriculum.
• Assist youth with homework and academic tutoring.
• Report unusual incidents or problems to Site Supervisor.
• Be a positive and professional role model to youth and parents.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Review the lessons and enrichment curriculum.
• Follow the Center's daily schedule.
• Assist in gathering materials needed for activities.
• Support Center flow (cafeteria, homework help, outdoor activities, supervision).
• Communicate concerns with the Site Supervisor.
• Assist with dismissal and end-of-day tasks.
• Track working hours using Firewall database (Zech).

Education

Teaching certificate or 2 years of K-12 teaching experience

Associate degree or bachelor's degree

Experience in camp/school setting
