Code Ninjas is seeking an energetic After School Coding Instructor to run engaging sessions for groups of children in a safe, fun learning environment. You will help students explore coding, robotics, and game design while reinforcing key concepts from our curriculum.

The role emphasizes hands-on teaching, station management, and collaboration with fellow Senseis and the Center Director to ensure smooth sessions and a positive classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching and mentoring children in a classroom or after-school setting.
• Ability to explain coding concepts to ages 7-14 in a fun, approachable way.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school coding sessions for groups of 10–25 students aged 5 to 10.
• Assist in delivering lessons on coding, robotics, game design, and circuitry.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and track student progress.
• Prepare materials before class and assist with clean-up after sessions.
• Collaborate with Center Director and fellow Senseis to ensure smooth sessions.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a After School Coding Instructor to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our Senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Are you experienced in working with children? Do you enjoy teaching and building problem-solving skills in young engineering minds? Have you mentored youth? This could be the role for you.

Responsibilities Include

• Assisting in leading after-school sessions for groups of 10 to 25 students, ages 5 to 10
• Supporting another Sensei in delivering lessons on topics like coding, robotics, game design, 3D printing, and circuitry
• Helping manage classroom flow and maintain a positive, structured learning environment
• Engaging with students to keep them focused, on task, and supported during activities
• Reinforcing key concepts from the curriculum through one-on-one and small group assistance
• Preparing materials before class and assisting with cleanup after sessions
• Collaborating with the Center Director and co-Senseis to ensure sessions run smoothly

Compensation: $16.90 - $22.00 per hour
