RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Extended Care Program (ECP) Site Manager and School Operations Manager in collaboration with the Interim Director of Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP), Office Manager, and Head of School Operations, the ECP Assistant Site Supervisor supports the smooth daily operations of the after-school program. As the second-in-command at the site during after school hours, the Assistant Site Supervisor ensures program logistics, safety, and organization are consistently maintained. This role does not include direct staff supervision but plays a key role in site operations, communication, and student support.

Program Support & Coordination
  • Support the implementation of daily program operations and activities, ensuring alignment with the program schedule and goals set by the Site Manager, Head of School Operations, and Interim Director of ELOP
  • Assist with coordinating use of classrooms and shared spaces for ECP, enrichment, and other after school programming
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient and effective site operations
Family & Community Communication
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with ECP staff, school leadership, enrichment providers, and families
  • Provide support in communicating program updates and assisting with family inquiries
Student Support & Culture
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students
  • Support the inclusion of diverse student needs and uphold restorative practices and culturally responsive approaches under the direction of the Site Manager
Daytime Site Operations & Administration
  • During the day, support the office manager with administrative tasks
    • Greet visitors and ensure they sign in according to school procedures.
    • Answer phones, take messages, and direct calls to the appropriate staff member.
    • Support with daily attendance data entry.
    • Assist with scanning, printing, and filing documents as needed.
  • Lead lunch/snack supervision and prep meal services as the primary lunch supervisor
    • Verify meals, including meals for students with special diets, before serving.
    • Ensure proper hygiene and safety practices, including handwashing, glove use, and food temperature checks.
    • Maintain a clean and organized serving area and support mid-lunch and post-lunch cleanup.
    • Monitor students during lunch for safety and appropriate behavior.
    • Coordinate with the Office Manager or ECP Manager regarding missing meals, supplies, or other meal-service issues.
    • Enter daily lunch and snack meal counts into Mealtime.
Afterschool Site Operations & Administration
  • Manage and organize site supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed
  • Maintain accurate records including student attendance, snack logs, and supply inventory
  • Monitor and collect late fees for after-school late pick-ups
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all spaces used during after school hours
  • Responsible, with the Site Manager, for securing and closing the school site at the end of the day
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is a plus
  • Experience working in camps or afterschool programs in a leadership role
  • Basic computer skills including Google Suite applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both orally and in writing; fluent in English
  • Ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, or other secondary language is a plus
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change; ability to work in a dynamic, creative, and start-up learning environment

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

11 Months; Opportunity to work over during school breaks (Summer and October)

TIME COMMITMENT

180-day school year, 8 student-free professional development days for collaboration with colleagues. Hours worked are Monday - Friday, between 10am-6:15pm.

COMPENSATION

$24-26/hr. This is a full time, non-exempt position eligible for benefits and overtime compensation.
