Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience working with children from Kindergarten through Middle School.
• Excellent communications skills both written and oral.
• Proficiency with computer network systems and software programs.
• Ability to use technology to enhance student learning.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check.

Responsibilities

• Supports lead teacher by guiding students individually or in small groups with lessons and activities.
• Implements instructional learning activities to improve academic, physical and social skills.
• Maintains equipment, records, attendance and homework checks.
• Monitors students in various settings (classroom, playground, library).

Job Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the After School Lead, assistants’ students individually or in small groups with l esson assignments which can include but are not limited to reading stories, listening to students reading, language, spelling, motor perception programs, etc. for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Implements instructional learning activities for the purpose of improving students’ academic, physical and social skills.
• Maintains equipment, work area, student files and records, takes attendance, checks homework, etc.
• Monitors individual and or groups of children in a variety of settings (i.e., classroom, playground, library).
• Enforces school rules and procedures for behavior.
• Ensures students are safe at all times.
• Promotes good habits for the purpose of improving the quality of student development.
• Any other work assigned.
