Job summary

Henrico Education Foundation in Virginia is seeking an Academic Teacher to lead a group of elementary students (K–5) in English/Language Arts and Math through engaging activities and nurturing relationships.

You will deliver lesson plans, support homework, ensure safety, and collaborate with Center Directors to track progress. The role offers 10–15 hours weekly with a pay rate of $20–$26 per hour and free HEF program participation.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older.
• College degree: Associates or Bachelors required.
• Six months of programmatic experience with children.

Responsibilities

• Deliver program lesson plans in a developmentally appropriate manner.
• Facilitate a program environment that invites exploration and positive play.
• Provide homework assistance and encourage academic progress.
• Engage all assigned children and ensure high participation.
• Develop relationships with children and families to meet needs.
• Ensure the safety of children in the group.
• Provide supervision and stay attentive at all times.
• Provide regular feedback to Center Directors regarding student needs.
• Adhere to program policies and procedures.
