Job summary

HOKALI, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic after-school group leader to supervise and engage students from TK through 8th grade after school in Missouri. You will run activities, support homework, and maintain a safe, structured environment with guidance from an on-site Site Coordinator.

The role requires hands-on group leadership experience, strong safety awareness, and excellent English communication. This is a part-time, on-site position with daily weekday afternoons throughout the school year.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of hands-on experience independently leading groups of children, including sole responsibility and safety.
• Experience leading games and activities for groups of children.
• Experience keeping attendance records for groups of children.
• Willingness to complete required training before starting: Mandated Reporter, First Aid & CPR, Concussion Awareness.
• Fluent in English.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Available every weekday afternoon for the full school year.

In this role, you will help create a positive after-school experience for students and families by leading a group with energy, care, and clear structure. This is a hands‑on opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, can keep a group engaged, and brings a calm, steady presence to the day‑to‑day flow of an after‑care program.

What makes someone a great fit

We’re looking for someone with proven, hands‑on experience running a group of children, not just being around kids. You should already know how to get a group of children to listen, keep them engaged, and maintain a safe, structured environment.

Must‑haves

• At least 6 months of hands‑on experience independently leading groups of children, including being solely responsible for the group, keeping children safe, and managing behavior without another adult stepping in.
• Experience leading games and activities for groups of children.
• Experience keeping attendance records for groups of children.
• Willingness to complete required training before starting, including Mandated Reporter, First Aid & CPR, and Concussion Awareness.
• Fluent in English.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Available every weekday afternoon for the full school year.

Preferred

• Experience supporting homework for school‑age children.

• Experience supervising snack time and outdoor play for groups of children.

• Experience with middle school students (grades 6-8).

• Experience working with both younger children and middle school students.

• Experience handling conflicts between children calmly.

• Experience documenting incidents involving children, including injuries, conflicts, or parent communication.

• Fluency in Spanish.
