Job summary

The City of Asheville is seeking a Community Development Analyst I in the Housing and Economic Development Department to conduct independent research, analysis, and project underwriting for affordable housing using CDBG and HOME programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in planning or public administration with 3 years' experience in housing development, grant management, or related fields, and a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Community Development, Public Administration, or related field required.
• Three years of experience in community and housing development and finance, grant management, real estate, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME) and Community Development and Block Grants (CDBG) programs; provides guidance on guidelines and eligibility.
• Coordinates with developers, advisory committees, nonprofits, and other entities; conducts meetings, trainings, site visits, and prepares reports.
