Job summary

AFB International is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Maintenance Supervisor and perform repair duties across plant equipment. The role requires at least 5 years of experience as a plant maintenance tech, with proficiency in Logix and WonderWare, plus strict adherence to safety practices.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and coordinate maintenance activities on-site in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a plant Maintenance Tech.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and ability to follow safety procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with peers, supervisors, customers and vendors.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from peers and managers.

The primary purpose of this job is to function as an assistant to the Maintenance Supervisor while still conducting repair duties associated with the Maintenance Mechanic position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Trouble shoot and repair all equipment at the plant as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Operate a fork lift.
  • Operate scissor lift.
  • Trouble shoot, repair and/or replace pumps and piping systems.
  • Trouble shoot and repair and/or modify electrical wiring and controls circuits.
  • Trouble shoot, repair and/or replace electrical motors, gearboxes, drive systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to Maintenance Technicians and plant as required.
  • Identify training opportunities and recommend training department wide.
  • Plan and coordinate Maintenance Training.
  • Acts as Maintenance lead to of Maintenance Technicians
  • Represent the Maintenance Department in plant wide shift change and participate in Lead training.
  • Coordinate maintenance functions in the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor

Education And/or Experience

  • Knowledge of safety practices and ability to follow designated safety procedures.

  • Identifies unsafe work conditions in the work area. Reports safety hazards to supervisor or safety coordinator.
