Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking skilled technicians to support manufacturing and assembly across facilities. You will operate robotic weld systems, perform precision drilling, alignment, and inspections per engineering drawings.

The role requires problem-solving, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced aerospace environment. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and experience in manufacturing or related fields.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate robotic weld systems and perform manual blend operations.
  • Drill, assemble, and inspect internal tank installations per drawings.
  • Set up new production work areas and tooling.
  • Verify work against engineering models and instructions.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain 5S, keep area clean, and support safety standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment as required.

Job description

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Shift Specificity: A & B-Shift: Monday - Thursday D Shift: Weekends

  • Operate robotic weld systems.
  • Manual blend operations.
  • Precision drilling in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications for internal tank installations.
  • Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment.
  • Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other group support equipment as required.
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and Safety.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as climbing ladders/stairs, lifting heavy items > 50lbs, and blending welds.
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends if/when necessary, as directed.
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
  • Metallurgical knowledge.
  • Ability to fabricate and use hand tools on an expert level.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in automated welding equipment
  • Extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing environments.
  • Experience fabricating jigs and fixtures for complex aerospace components.
  • Advanced knowledge of tube bending, facing, and cleaning techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with aerospace cleanliness standards and maintaining a compliant workspace.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
