Job summary

Gravitics, based in Seattle, seeks a Tooling Engineer to design, analyze, and implement manufacturing tooling and fixtures for large aerospace structures. This role bridges design engineering and production to ensure repeatable, safe, and efficient fabrication of space hardware.

You will own tooling projects from requirements through test, contribute to GD&T-compliant drawings, and collaborate with suppliers to deliver on schedule and budget while maintaining quality in a fast-growing space

Qualifications

• Ownership of complex tooling projects from requirements through test.
• 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Experience writing manufacturing work instructions and tooling documentation.
• Familiarity with CAD/Analysis packages such as NX and Simcenter 3D; PLM systems like Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids for large aerospace structures.
• Develop tooling for welding, machining, testing, and precision assembly.
• Create drawings with GD&T and tolerance stack‑ups.
• Apply hand calculations to iteratively improve designs.
