Job summary

Poseidon Aerospace, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area with locations in WA, OR, and ME, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to design tooling and transfer designs to precision CAM workflows. You will own CAD design through CAM programming to run parts on mills and routers, delivering jigs and fixtures on startup timelines.

You will collaborate with design engineers on DFM, prototype manufacturing solutions, and define assembly procedures while iterating tooling for evolving aircraft designs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software for tooling design.
• Hands-on CAM programming and ability to machine parts.
• Strong GD&T and tolerancing knowledge.
• Knowledge of composite materials and tooling requirements.
• Experience with metrology equipment and inspection techniques.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing principles.
• Self-directed problem solver in a small, fast-moving team.
• Able to balance speed with precision across tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, jigs, and fixtures for aircraft assembly and fabrication.
• Program and machine tooling components using CAM software and CNC.
• Prototype manufacturing solutions to support evolving designs.
• Perform first article inspections and dimensional validation.
• Provide DFM feedback to influence part designs.
• Develop and document assembly procedures and tooling guidelines.
• Troubleshoot tooling designs based on production feedback.
• Maintain and improve tooling as designs evolve.
