Job summary

SpaceX in Brownsville, Texas is seeking a Tool Crib Attendant to receive, store and issue hand tools, shop supplies and equipment while maintaining records and supporting the repair cycle.

You will help with inventory, inspect tools, tag items, and assist management with ordering, all while adherence to safety, FOD prevention and regulatory requirements. This role requires physical dexterity, ability to work overtime, and familiarity with hazardous materials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 2+ years in aviation/aerospace tool room or 4+ years at a launch/test site.
• Associate degree in mechanical/electrical/computer field.
• Experience with streaming low latency live video.
• Experience with Windows Server 2003/2008 R2/Windows 10.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Receive, store and issue hand tools, replacement tools, shop supplies and equipment.
• Keep records of tools issued to and returned by workers.
• Search for lost tools and notify supervision.
• Prepare inventory and requisition stock as needed.
• Unpack and store new equipment.
• Visually inspect tools for wear and defects and order replacements.
• Attach ID tags or engrave information on tools and equipment.
• Assist repair cycle specialist in maintaining inventories.
• Assist management with ordering tools, parts and equipment.
• Handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Maintain tool room files, stock, and hazardous waste areas.
• Practice safety, tool control and regulatory compliance.
