Job summary
A leading aerospace company in Little Rock is seeking a Tool Designer responsible for designing and improving production tooling for aircraft interior components. The role involves using CAD software to create 3D models, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, and collaborating with various teams to enhance production efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 3–7 years of relevant experience in tooling design, particularly in aerospace.
Qualifications
3–7 years of experience in tooling design, preferably in aerospace.
Experience supporting composite, sheet metal, or interior assembly processes is a strong asset.
Responsibilities
Design manufacturing and assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges for aircraft interior components.
Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using CAD software.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production, quality, and program teams to define tooling requirements.
Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and risk assessments related to tooling.
Work with suppliers and internal fabrication teams to manufacture, validate, and implement tooling.
Troubleshoot tooling issues on the shop floor and implement continuous improvement solutions.
Maintain tooling documentation, configuration control, and revision management.
Support cost reduction initiatives and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Skills
Proficiency in CAD software
GD&T knowledge
Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes
Familiarity with manufacturing methods
Education
Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering
