Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a TIG Welder (Falcon) in Hawthorne, CA to weld, assemble and fabricate fluid systems and sub-assemblies. Read blueprints, use precision tools and follow detailed work instructions to ensure components meet aerospace standards.

Requires a high school diploma and 1+ years of TIG welding or a welding certification; preferred candidates have 5+ years of experience with stainless, carbon steel or aluminum, and familiarity with AWS D17.1/D1.2.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of TIG welding experience or a welding certification.

Responsibilities

• Weld, assemble and fabricate fluid systems and sub-assembly components.
• Use torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers with precision.
• Follow procedures, specifications and test instructions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Operate various mechanical tools without instruction.
• Work with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment.
• Perform metal finishing including blending, filing and shearing.
